Grand Designs Landscaping offers a broad range of services heavily focused on landscape development for both residential & commercial customers, both BIG & SMALL. We work throughout the Hawkes Bay and neighbouring regions.

This Includes initial design & development, general & civil earthworks, tree removal & pruning [utilizing our inhouse commercial woodchippers] pre plant preparation & planting. Other services also include general maintenance, concreting, fencing & decking, irrigation & exterior lighting.

Owner/operator Tommy Forbes and his team are incredibly passionate and focused on delivering excellent customer service and quality workmanship. Their arsenal of machinery and equipment ensures the 'right tool' is always used saving both time and expense.

TREE PRUNING & REMOVAL

We specialize in tree pruning & removal regardless of commercial, residential or rural. Our talented team of arborists paired with our range of commercial wood chippers allows us to complete all tasks required.

CHIPPING

Our fleet also consists of large commercial woodchippers, this combined with our diverse range of excavators & trucks means clearing unwanted tress & vegetation is achieved effortlessly & efficiently.

SITE CLEARANCE

Grand Designs Landscaping specialize is site clearance. Weather its vegetation, disregarded building material or general waste our team can ensure a quick, effective, painless turnaround. In addition, an environmentally conscious approach is always taken when disposing of waste.

CONTOURING & LANDSCAPING

Contouring is a proven & effective method of removing/redirecting surface water with minimal cost & no additional infrastructure. Modern techniques & technology means we can create the slightest of gradients. This is crucial when landscaping larger residential properties, developments or commercial sites

DRIVEWAYS & TRACK

Regardless of rural, residential or commercial, our knowledgeable team can repair/maintain/construct or driveway/parking area. Utilizing the latest in compaction technology & proven materials ensures quality & longevity.

LAWN DEVELOPMENT

Our diverse range of equipment ensures your lawn is leveled, contoured, prepped & seeded as should be. Prior to commencing we closely examine & test your existing soil to ensure longevity.

DRAINAGE & TRENCHING

Redirecting unwanted surface water is crucial regardless of application. Our team, machinery & modern technology can ensure this is done correctly. This also applies to excavating trenches in preparation for utilities [power, water, septic]

MARANUI GOLF CLUB - POND DEVELOPMENT

Involved construction of two large ponds to contain a recently formed spring, located centrally within the Golf Course. Excess water drained VIA swale.

NAPIER GOLF CLUB - TREE REMOVAL

Involved removing 3 large gums situated centrally within the golf course. Our 7T excavator equipped with grapple & 15" Commerical Woodchipper made 'cleaning up' quick & effortless!

POND CLEARANCE

Involved clearing remaining silt before recontouring. Waste material was dried, spread & contouring, ensuring surface water was redirected to pond. Finally, all worked areas were seeded

MASS PLANTING

Recently completed home. GDL provided landscape design & implementation. Included general earthworks, concreting, fencing retaining, weed prevention & planting

SLIP RECONSTRUCTION

Reconstructed as per GEOTECH report.

LANDSCAPE TRANSORMATION

Involved turning an inaccessible area previously covered in weeds into a low maintenance haven for birds & additional wildlife. Biodegradable weed matting, limestone rock, mulch & natives were used to achieve desired result

TE AWANAGA DRIVEWAY

Sunken driveway with core10 steel edging. Finished with Matangi stone. Including GAP40 base & customer drainage.

HAWKES BAY HOMES

Involved leveling area prior to laying Macrocarpa sleepers. Finally area was finished with A -grade topsoil & seeded

TREE REMOVAL - GREENMEADOWS

Our commercial chipper, excavator & arsenal of Stihl equipment making quick & clean work, removing multiple trees amongst this overgrown section of garden.

GLOOM TOO GRAND

Involved a full design, site clearance & implementation. Including 130 Ton of Limestone rock walls, 240 cubic meters of Forest Floor mulch & 170 Ton of Limestone track mix. While onsite we relocated existing water tanks & constructed new lower driveway section. Planting was kept simplistic to ensure minimal maintenance.

TUKITUKI VALLEY

Involved clearing an overgrown site situated in the Tukituki Valley. Once an incredible garden was unfortunately left unmaintained for many years. Our commercial chipper & excavator made quick progress clearing before releveling & contouring

Reinstatement of Lawns & Driveway

When Cyclone Gabriel came to town she flooded our lovely return driveway under 1 1/2 meters of silty water. When the waters parted we were left with more mud than shingle. This moonscape was then churned up by successions of 4Wd.s over the next 6 months. Then along came Dallimore Earthworks who scraped off the top layer mess and replaced with new shiney shingle which they rolled down to a hard surface. The whole job was completed in a couple of days, and they made sure that the many large trucks carrying the new shingle didn't damage our overhanging trees. Good job, well executed and on budget - what more do you want
